That's great story really enjoy when you talk about Korea or anything really you always put a lot of passion into whatever you're talking about .

but I really like hearing about Korea such an interesting place I've never even been really and all the different neighborhoods and kind of quaint.

I hate that word you know full of character and full of interesting aspects I mean and also telling a story in there too I mean.

there's no way one way to tell a story that was a great story and it's fun to rather than just say I'm going to talk about Korea you put a story in there and there's a narrative

so it was really good I think you should do that all the time do do a lot more of that .I really like it and I would have liked to have heard more about that man did he what did he say what did his face look like did he how did he react the thing.

Thank you

Dear Bob:

This finds you and yours very well, indeed.

It’s so inspiring to get your comments; beside the fact that I know you, which means that I know how nuanced your good taste is — and how I don’t deserve your compliments – it’s so nice to have somebody comment on what I’m doing here.

In regard to the man I helped, I don’t remember whether he said anything; in fact, had he said something, I suppose I would have remembered? Maybe at another time, in years past — I did. But I don’t recall, now.

As you know — life has been inconsistent, stressful and not stimulating — as I have narrowed my activities to just looking for work in Japan, Korea and online — here. With no extra money to do anything special—and craving solitude, I haven’t even gathered with family during the holidays. I don’t go out other than to do errands. Well – sometimes I do take a walk in the beautiful forest on the exercise path, nearby, or to the clubhouse to get the mail, sit there a bit and do pull ups in the gym—but that’s about it.

So — I do these stories, essays and notes — sporadically; I also update my art, homes, photography, English lessons and drawings on Instagram – and some of my writing is still added to my website/blog.

Thank you for encouraging me to do more (which encourages me to do them regularly – as other people have suggested).

I have a few more ideas from Korea, which are adventures and observations — and I guess it wouldn’t hurt to just share the charm I miss from that Land of The Morning Calm, especially these days — for their sake!

I did write an essay about the plane crash after watching many aviation videos and thinking about the dynamics of the situation – but it definitely shouldn’t be put here without more positive narratives. it’s largely technical — it’s on my blog at http://xesl.wordpress.com/.

Happy new year! – And thanks for writing!

Your friend,

Carl

Corrections:

1. In talking about the brush sculpture in Insadong, I said that it looks like it is "being 'drug"; I should have said dragged'.

2. In referring to Marcus Aurelius, I said that how we react to problems "cause us the most trouble"--whereas I should have said 'causes' us the most trouble.

3. The word for 'down' in Korean, is--in fact--"ah-rae [ae]" (아래에); 'ah-rae' being the actual word and 'ae' being a post-position particle with a meaning akin to 'at'.
